At Stonelodge Dental, our goal is to help you keep your natural teeth as long as possible. But when that is not possible, we offer a variety of restoration options to meet your specific needs and goals. Dentures are one such option, and our team has over a decade of experience helping patients who need this type of restoration.

What Are They?

Dentures are removable “false teeth” that can be used to replace some or all of your teeth. Although these appliances are not a good solution for permanent restoration of teeth, they can be very effective on a temporary basis.
NEW PATIENTS »

We generally recommend these dental appliances as a temporary solution for patients who have abscesses that need to heal or who don’t yet have enough bone to support implants. We offer full or partial dentures, depending on your situation.

What to Expect

We’ll begin with a thorough examination and explain our findings to you. In some cases, extractions will be needed before commencing with creating your appliance. We offer the full range of services in our clinic, including extractions. We’ll take impressions that will be used to create your full or partial dentures.

How Long Do They Last?

These appliances themselves can last a very long time. However, when there are no teeth present, the bone beneath the teeth recedes, which means your dentures will not fit properly over time as the bone continues to shrink. They will need to be re-fitted and re-lined to fit correctly. For this reason, we always stress the importance of placing implants as soon as possible, to minimize bone loss.

How to Take Care of Them

Dentures require patients to learn how to speak and eat differently, as they don’t feel the same as natural teeth. Taking care of your appliance requires cleaning it every day. You may also soak it overnight to ensure bacteria does not build up. When you come in for your regular dental visits, we will clean them with an ultrasonic cleaner.
